Get Ready to “Travel – Run – Give Back” in March!

After years of mounting the Kilimanjaro Marathon on the last Sunday of February, organizers have decided to move the event to March 22, 2026. The benefit of this shift is that the event no longer conflicts with the peak safari season and prices to combine your run with a wildlife safari adventure offer better value.

Picture yourself traveling to Tanzania for a unique and very fun Marathon (or Half Marathon or 5K) in the shadows of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Before the run, enjoy 3 nights in Nyamuswa Village to participate in the Fourth Annual Chamriho 5k, a community fun run that raises funds locally to support school meals for students. Then, enjoy an amazing 5-day wildlife safari (through the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park) enroute to Moshi where you will enjoy the weekend festivities of the Kilimanjaro Marathon.

During the village visit, you will tour a school and learn about the innovative ways that PZ is empowering local communities, teachers, and schools. Special for 2026, PZ is celebrating its 25 Year Anniversary, and the village will be buzzing with fun activities including a tour to learn about the history and culture of the area.

Meet Brian in person at two Marathon Expos this season: Grandma’s Marathon (Duluth, MN) on June 19 and 20 and the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon (St Paul, MN) on October 3 and 4.

“If you’re looking for a doorway into the world of Tanzania’s parks and wildlife, look no further! We’re very happy with our experience with A2T. From Casey’s initial response to the final itinerary, Casey helped us plan a memorable and exciting trip, asking many questions, listening to our feedback and changing things as necessary. He and Karen provided timely service and essential information about traveling to Tanzania and life on safari. Their lists, videos, and visa instructions were so helpful. Our itinerary was very well calibrated, so that each camp and park experience was different from the other, becoming progressively more exciting and magical in totally different ways! The transfer from the Seronera Airport to Stone Town was seamless, despite our bittersweet kwaheri to the mainland and Barney. Casey recommended we stay at Rivertrees Inn in Arusha on arrival, which was a good call for a soft landing after a long couple days of international travel. Thank you for helping us plan an incredible adventure!”
