Willy is the best
Willy was unbelievable. He could spot the animals like he has a sixth sense but also could predict their behavior, and knew how to drive so we’d get the best view. Knew which birds would always be in pairs. Knew when the rhino would change position so we would get a better look. He was unbelievably patient with me and my bad eyesight and made sure I saw every animal he saw. So patient with my constant questions and asking to stop or stay longer. Such a kind person who helped out other, newer drivers, gave a push to someone stuck in the mud, even made sure people with other guides could see the animals he saw when we were stopped for lunch. Gave our leftover lunch food to people who would appreciate it. Every guide seemed to know Willy and greeted him with a huge smile. He was unfailingly cheerful. He is an excellent driver and I always felt very safe with him.
“What an amazing family experience. From the moment Willy picked us up at the airport to the moment he dropped us off we felt right at home. It’s hard to put into words the experience because it was truly life changing. You’d expect that we would say seeing lions (and boy did Willy the lion whisperer know how to find lions!) was the highlight. Don’t get me wrong that was wild! But our connection with Willy and doing things like visiting an orphanage and going to his house for a typical African dinner were outstanding. To have a little glimmer of how people in another country and culture live is to forage a lasting connection. We cried when we had to part with Willy because he had become family to us”
