He was quite informed on the history of Tanzania and the cultures of the many tribes of the country; his thorough knowledge of the flora and fauna of each of the regions we visited, his keen insights into the habitats and movements of the animals, and his incomparable sense of delightful humor and patience in dealing with us as guests in his country, not only made each day such a pleasure to look forward to, but also wonderful evenings to talk about all that we had seen and learned.
