Maningo had immense depth of knowledge having been a guide for over 25 years. Even with all that time doing the job, he was as eager as we were to get out and watch animals live their lives. He answered most questions from his own experience but also paid attention to what other guides and youtube videos said about possible animal behaviors. He knew many many guides and they all help each other to optimize the viewing for their clients. Even with just an iPhone camera that has only a 10x telephoto lens, I got great photos, thanks to Maningo knowing how to work with those limitations. He showed us not only the big charismatic animals but also the lesser known but fascinating ones e.g. rock hyraxes which are elephants’ closest living relatives but are the size of bunnies. He was very knowledgeable about birds too. He also identified plants, such as a date tree growing wild. He anticipated road conditions affected by the weather and worked around it.
“If you’re looking for a doorway into the world of Tanzania’s parks and wildlife, look no further! We’re very happy with our experience with A2T. From Casey’s initial response to the final itinerary, Casey helped us plan a memorable and exciting trip, asking many questions, listening to our feedback and changing things as necessary. He and Karen provided timely service and essential information about traveling to Tanzania and life on safari. Their lists, videos, and visa instructions were so helpful. Our itinerary was very well calibrated, so that each camp and park experience was different from the other, becoming progressively more exciting and magical in totally different ways! The transfer from the Seronera Airport to Stone Town was seamless, despite our bittersweet kwaheri to the mainland and Barney. Casey recommended we stay at Rivertrees Inn in Arusha on arrival, which was a good call for a soft landing after a long couple days of international travel. Thank you for helping us plan an incredible adventure!”
