Mikumi National Park

Description: Mikumi, transected by the surfaced road from Dar es Salaam to Iringa is the most accessible park in the Southern circuit. The centerpiece of Mikumi is the abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplains that draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. Lions survey their grassy kingdom – and the zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo herds that migrate across it – from the flattened tops of termite mounds. It is perhaps the most reliable place in Tanzania to view the eland, the world’s largest antelope.

“From my very first phone call with Karen, I felt supported and guided. My ideas were listened to and helpful feedback/suggestions/modifications were given. It was a source of comfort to be able to put my trust in Access2Tanzania. From the beginning of the planning stages all the way to the last communications before leaving the USA, to Tanzanian component, to the post trip emails – I knew I was in good hands- that Access2Tanzania truly cared about us and our overall experience. The scheduled phone conferences were so very helpful. The information and links on the Access2Tanzania website were extremely helpful. A2T!!”
