We loved David. He was a great fit for our group. His sense of humor, knowledge, experience was amazing. We were very impressed by his ability to read our mood and adjust on the fly to provide the best experience possible. A couple of afternoons we were dragging, David noticed and adjusted by picking up the pace and eventually getting us back to the lodge a little earlier than we had planned in the day before. I loved how he made real efforts to show us specific things we wanted to see. Sometimes it was obvious he was making effort (like driving North to see the great migration) but other times it wasn’t so obvious (which was great). For instance, Melissa wanted to see water monitors so any time we cross a creek David would stop to look; but there was another time we took a short side-trip to an area that on a sunny day probably had a good deal of monitors; however it wasn’t a sunny day and David likely knew we wouldn’t see anything but he made the effort all the same. David was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He made us feel comfortable and was an incredible guide for our trip. After spending so much time together you really do develop a relationship and we felt very safe and “taken care of” with David as our guide. He seemed to also have a great rapport with the other guides we encountered on our travels. We found ourselves feeling very sad as we left him at the airport to fly to Zanzibar.

We had the pleasure of having David as a guide the second time. He is consistently helpful and nice to be with. He’s very knowledgeable about both the animals and birds we were fortunate to see. His enthusiasm for for the flora and fauna of his country is palpable! It was especially fun to see David interact with the Hadzabe people and those in the other village we visited and that was where David’s family was from. The combination of David and Ray worked really well and they complimented each other.

David was a masterful guide – he seemed to instinctively know where to go, when, in order to have the greatest opportunity to see the many animals. We relished the opportunity to have subsequent viewings that allowed us to stop and spend time with the animals as they lived their lives. David taught us so much about their family lives and how everything fits together in nature’s eco-system. He was also able to ‘read’ us – and when we needed a break or shorter drives, or a later start, etc. He grew to be not just a guide, but a friend!

We felt like we were in good hands. David was always on time. He was also looking after that we always had the best views on the safari.

David did a very good job of listening to what we were looking for and working to achieve those goals.
