This was my third Safari (Kenya, South Africa and this time Tanzania) and I never had such a knowledgeable, devoted, helpful and genuinely caring guide as Elly. He had an in depth knowledge of all the animals and birds we saw (and we saw them all), impeccable manners, was always calm and patient (even in the face of our very challenging teenager’s behaviour and moods at times). He also has superb driving skills (safe on the road but very advanced off road driving skills in the Serengeti which saved us several times from getting stuck for hours in the mud). We always felt safe and listened to at all times.

His expertise, kind manner, ability to spot the animals and openness and enthusiasm for teaching us about Tanzania made for a truly personal and outstanding safari. He is also a great Kiswahili teacher. We recommended A2T to our friends and told them to request Elly because he was so wonderful.

Elly was amazing…he is very knowledgeable, fun, and made sure we were comfortable. He was determined to find animals. He went above and beyond! He helped us with our return flight delay by finding us a place to relax while we waited.

10 stars! Elly was sensational from the moment he picked us up at the airport to the moment he dropped us off. Every second, I felt that he was thinking about our well-being and enjoyment and always seeking to optimize the experience for us. His customer service was top notch. His extraordinary knowledge of all of the wildlife we saw (animals, birds) and the plants and trees – really made the trip that much more special. His keen eye and ability to spot creatures without even binoculars was unbelievable! We felt safe with Elly, we felt respected, we felt heard and understood.

Elly made the trip more than just a safari. He was very patient and willing to share his knowledge of Tanzanian culture and Swahili language, etc. We asked a lot of questions, and he was always approachable and willing to listen. He would ask us what our preferences were and he was a very safe driver. We felt very comfortable the entire time. But it was his ability to make us laugh that made the trip even more memorable for us.

Elly is an outstanding guide. He fulfilled many roles with us, game spotter, guide, cultural educator, driver, language translator, protector, and most of all friend. Should Elly ever choose to visit the USA he will always have a place to stay in my home.
