We would rate Maningo in the top 3 of the many safari guides we’ve had.

Maningo was a perfect fit for us. He was very knowledgeable about the animals as well as the birds as Dan is a birder. We appreciated him not talking non-stop (as we saw other guides doing at dinner!) He usually joined us after dinner to talk about the next day. This worked best for us.

Alex and Maningo were excellent, knowledgeable, personable and hardworking.

Maningo was awesome. I was travelling with my 85 year old aunt. He was so patient and helpful with her. We felt like a friend was guiding us and not an employee.

Maningo met us at JRO as promised and was friendly and informative. He always provided a step stool for David and also the welcome extra cushions. Always pleasant, personable, attentive to our needs and very knowledgeable about the wildlife we were seeing. He spoke often with the other guides and rendered assistance to others on a couple of occasions. He drove us flawlessly through very rugged territory.

Maningo was most pleasant. I never felt I couldn’t ask a question. He was keen at spotting game and giving details about most any wildlife situation. He provided a reference guide that was fascinating. He drove carefully and respectfully not only of his passengers but also of the environment. He found a school for us to visit in spite of the examinations that made a visit to the public school unavailable.

Maningo was outstanding. His personality was a perfect fit for us. Very interested in customer satisfaction. Driving skills were outstanding. He was always considerate of his customer’s comfort. His knowledge of fauna was very good too. He had a good sense of humor. Just the right blend of smarts and casualness. He was always on the lookout for animals and spotted so many different treasures.

We felt well taken care of with Maningo. He is professional, patient, accommodating, easy going, and phenomenal at spotting animals. We also appreciated his driving – we certainly saw others get “stuck,” but Maningo maneuvered everything.

Maningo was really wonderful. He offered us just what we asked for and he was always anticipating our needs. He was a joy to be with and seemed to know every animal, bird, tree and so it was a constant education. I regret we didn’t ask more about the history and development of Tanzania and get into more depth, but what we did want to know about was readily answered by Maningo.

A great guide who kept us safe during some hard (rainy) driving conditions and who had an eagle eye for animal spotting.
