Expert Spotter

Alex is a primary reason our trip was a success. From the time we saw his beaming smile at the airport, we could tell that we were in good hands. He’s a careful driver who never made us feel uncomfortable whether in Arusha traffic or on the game road. Alex is an expert spotter and we are confident that we saw much more wildlife than some of the other guides who always seemed to be racing to somewhere (for example, he positioned our vehicle to patiently wait for a leopard he had spotted very far off to walk right past us and climb to the top of a kopje where she called out her cubs – my wife was thrilled). He is courteous and checked constantly to ensure we were comfortable and seeing what we wanted to see, and was always on schedule. He has a great sense of humor and we all spent a lot of time on the long drives joking and laughing. Alex is very knowledgeable not only about the mega fauna but also about smaller mammals, birds, trees and plants. Every time we asked about a bird he would give the correct identification first and then pull out the bird book to show us a picture. He was happy to talk about life in Tanzania and answered all our questions whether they be about customs, politics, music or food – always in a friendly informative manner. My wife and I agree that Alex is an excellent guide and we both highly recommend him.
